Safe house for 70 days, 12 days of hotel stay and TLP for 435+ days
This young person, a transgender female, first came to Casa Q’s Safe House for a short stay before transitioning into another program. Recognizing the need for continued support, she later returned to Casa Q to join the Transitional Living Program (TLP), where she has been successfully meeting her program goals for over a year.
During her time in the TLP, she has demonstrated consistent growth, stability, and commitment to her future. She has built a strong sense of community and developed a reliable support system, both within Casa Q and beyond. Through this experience, she has also become increasingly resourceful learning how to access services, navigate systems, and ensure her needs are met as she moves toward independence.
As she approaches the completion of the two-year program, she is preparing to transition out of Casa Q with the skills and confidence needed for long-term stability. Her journey reflects not only personal growth, but also leadership. She has become an advocate for queer youth and young adults, using her voice and experiences to support others.
Her story highlights the long-term impact of affirming, sustained support. With a strong foundation in place, she is moving forward as a capable and empowered young adult with a bright future ahead.
